About Our Rescue Group:

We love dogs and we love to see them enhance a life. Our goals are two-fold. First we want to save shelter dogs and secondly we want your life to be improved by matching a wonderful dog to a safe, loving and caring family. We take in only one or two dogs at a time, because they eat, sleep and live 24/7 with us. Not only do we rescue shelter dogs, but occassionally we will take owner relinquished. dogs.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked, up to date on shots, microchipped, Frontlined, and wormed.

Viewing of dogs is done by appointment only after approval of application.

Our Adoption Process:

Little Dog Rescue specializes in dogs 2-15 pounds. WE normally have Poodles, Shih Tzus, Maltese, Yorkies, Terriers, or some sort of mixes of those breeds. The rescued dog is given its basic shots, rabies vaccine, flea and tick treatment, worming medication, vet checked, and is sterilized. We keep the dog in our home for some TLC and evaluation in regard to its temperament, socialization, and best possible fit for a prospective adopter.

The dogs you visit on our web site have lived in our home as a member of our family. They eat, sleep, go in the car, and are with us at all times. Even though we don’t have a history on the dog’s past or know how it got to a point where it wound up in the pound, we do have a sense of its character and needs.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
