About Our Rescue Group:

The Akita Rescue is an organization
dedicated to rescuing homeless or
abandoned akitas. We believe that every
dog should begiven a chance.
We live with our rescued Akitas for a
month before offering them to find out
their personality.
We expose them to all the things that
the potential family might encounter.
This includes but is not limited to
cats, children, car rides, other dogs,
bicycles,squirrels, crates, veterinary
exams and grooming. We make sure their
health is as good as we can make it.
We do small obedience training that
will make the Akita more attractive to
the potential family. This includes
sitting on command, coming, and
walking on a leash. Of course, the
family must continue the training once
the Akita is adopted,continued training
is part of our contract.

Come Meet our Pets:

Upon completion and qualification
of the application we schedule
appointments to meet our orphans
in a one on one setting.

Our Adoption Process:

Before adopting out our beloved dogs
the Akita Rescue first screens the family
via the application to make sure that
the dog will be moving to a loving
environment. The family must let us know the hours they work, children or not,
children?s ages, other animals/pets,
accommodations for the Akita and their

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
