The Peaceful Kingdom Alliance 4 Animals's adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you so much for your interest in adopting one of our precious cats!

We require that all of our cats are adopted to indoor homes only.

The first step in our adoption process is to complete our adoption applicaton. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt one of our cats and have the permission of your landlord to bring a cat onto the premises if you live in rental property. The Peaceful Kingdom Alliance 4 Animals reserves the right to reject any application without cause. Applicatons are available by phone, fax or email, or at either of our PETsMART locations in Bakersfield, CA.

Once your application has been submitted, we begin the screening process. Please allow up to 48 hours for us to begin this process. Once we have successfully verified all the information submitted on your application, we will call you to schedule a home visit. A homecheck is required so that we can make sure that your home is pet-friendly and that the chosen cat would do well in his or her new place of residence. This is an INFORMAL visit done by a Peaceful Kingdom represenative at your convenience and by appointment only.

All of our cats are spayed or neutered upon arrival at our shelter and have been given their first set of vaccinations. Our cats are also tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids prior to adoption. Each of our cats is provided with a break-away collar and shelter ID tag upon leaving our shelter for his or her new forever home.

We require an adoption fee of $45 which enables us to continue our work and save even more homeless animals! ;-))

About The Peaceful Kingdom Alliance 4 Animals

The Peaceful Kingdom Alliance 4 Animals is an all volunteer, non-profit 501c3 which was founded in February, 2001. Our mission is to help homeless and abandoned animals find the wonderful new forever homes they so richly deserve! We operate a small homeless cat shelter and our cats can be regularly seen at the PETsMART Luv-a-Pet Adoption Centers in Bakersfield. Although our facility doesn't have adequate space to properly provide shelter for dogs on a long-term basis, we do try to shelter dogs on a temporary basis whenever possible.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
