About Our Rescue Group:

Southland Sheltie Rescue, Inc., is dedicated to finding loving forever homes for Shelties who need help. Southland Sheltie Rescue gives Shelties respite through a network of foster homes throughout Southern California. The Shelties are given love, socialization, and medical care. We are an all volunteer, non-profit organization, and operate solely on donations. All donations go directly to the Shelties in our care. If you can help rescue a Sheltie by Fostering, Adopting, or Donating please contact the coordinator nearest you.

Check out our website and contact your local coordinator for more information on a particular Sheltie. Once your application and home visit are approved, you are welcome to meet prospective Shelties in their foster home by appointment only.

Our Adoption Process:

Southland Sheltie Rescue, Inc., has a three part adoption process; first fill out the online adoption application, second set up a home visit, and third set up an adoption interview. A contract is required once the Adoption is approved and the donation is made. Adoption donations range from $100 to $350 depending on the age/ condition of the Sheltie and circumstances of the adoption.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
