Additional adoption info
The adoption donation is:
$200 for dogs 1 year and older
$250 for puppies under the age of 1 year.
Our dogs are all spayed/neutered, micro chipped, current on all vaccinations, heartworm tested and dewormed. They all have at the minimum basic obedience skills and have been temperament tested to ensure proper placement.
All adoptions start with an application, reference check and home visit. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this.
In addition, once a dog is adopted, Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue will complete follow-up phone calls and visits to ensure that the animal is safe and to answer any questions that may arise. We are always available to answer any questions and to pass on our knowledge of the breeds. We can also make recommendations for nutrition, veterinarians, boarding facilities and training classes.
Please remember that just because you find a specific dog attractive does not mean that it will fit into your lifestyle. Please take our recommendations with sincerity since we know the dogs and their personalities. We want to place a dog in a FOREVER home and strive to make it right the first time. We have many contacts and if we don't have a dog that fits your lifestyle, we will be able to point you in the right direction.

A volunteer looks over your application and starts the screening process
A volunteer will contact to you to discuss your application, interview you and your family and set-up a time for a home visit.
Once approved, we set up a time for you to meet the dog you requested and any others that may be suitable for your situation.
At the adoption, the adoption fee must be made in full (checks payable to CBBR) and the contract must be signed. If you prefer to pay with a credit card or directly to our veterinarian office, we will make arrangements.

Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.
What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
