Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are located about 30 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati. We do out of state adoptions; all adopters must drive to Circle Tail to meet the dog.

About Our Shelter:

Circle Tail, Inc. provides service and hearing dogs to people with disabilities. We also provide dogs for adoption, as well as offer obedience training, behavior management and boarding services. We do not have a breeding program; we obtain our assistance dogs through donations and from shelters and rescues. Careful selection of dogs and puppies from shelters and unwanted litters not only helps a person with special needs, but also brings purpose to an unwanted dog's life. Circle Tail is dedicated to promoting responsible companion animal care. We have many wonderful dogs for adoption.

Come Meet our Pets:

Adoptions take place at Circle Tail, about 30 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati. We are at Cincinnati-area Petsmart stores on selected weekends, so check out www.circletail.org for dates and locations. Also, e-mail us or call to schedule an appointment at Circle Tail to see the dogs. Note that you must complete the preadoption survey before making an appointment. Please allow at least one week so we can bring the dog back to Circle Tail, as they are not normally housed there, but are typically housed at one of the Ohio Correctional Facilities we work with, or in foster families.

Our Adoption Process:

Our animals are vet checked, vaccinated, placed on heartworm prevention and flea prevention when old enough, and spayed or neutered before adoption. Potential adopters fill out a preadoption survey and sign an adoption contract. Once the preadoption survey is received and a good match is found, we make an appointment for you to meet the dog. Please allow at least one week so we can bring the dog back to Circle Tail, as they are not normally housed there, but are typically housed at one of the Ohio Correctional Facilities we work with, or in foster families.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
