Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Lighthouse serves all of Ohio. Due to our adoption policies it is very difficult for us to adopt out of state. However, sometimes special considerations are made for the western side of PA, and the southern end of MI.

About Our Rescue Group:

Lighthouse Boxer Rescue is a non profit organization that rescue and rehomes displaced boxers. We bring them into our foster care program, have them vetted, spayed/neutered, treated with any medical treated they require, temperment test them, and find them new loving forever homes.

Come Meet our Pets:

Lighthouse is a volunteer organization, we do NOT have a shelter to come visit. All our foster dogs are kept in volunteer's personal homes until a forever home can be found. We do many events during the summer months, where we have our foster dogs out at. Please visit our website for a list of upcoming events!

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption process starts with filling out an application which can be found on our website. Once we receive your application someone will be in contact with your shortly. We will check personal and vet references, along with a phone interview and a home visit before your application will be approved. Once approved your application processor will discuss with you, based on your lifestyle and needs, which dog may be best suited for your family.
Our adoption donation ranges from $200.00 - $350.00.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
