About Our Shelter:

Cat Depot, is one of the largest free roaming, nonprofit, no-kill feline rescue, adoption, education and resource centers in the nation, and is dedicated to helping abandoned, homeless and injured cats and kittens with medical care, food and love until they are adopted into forever homes. A leader in feline health care and mental well-being, Cat Depot houses over 100 cats and kittens in a 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. Providing the latest in innovation, Cat Depot has changed the destiny of thousands of formerly homeless felines, currently living joyful lives because of donations and support by members.

Cat Depot is located at 2542 17th Street, Sarasota FL, 34234. To better serve the public, Cat Depot is open 7 days a week, M-F, 11am to 7pm, S-S, 11am to 5pm.

Our Adoption Process:

An adoption application is required and an agreement to not allow the cats outside. We do not allow our cats to be declawed. Adoption fees: Adult cats: $75; Kittens $100

All cats are tested for FIV/FeLV, fecal test, treated for fleas, worms, earmites, receive their vaccines, are spayed or neutered and microchipped.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
