About Our Rescue Group:

We are a 501c3 not-for-profit organization in central Arkansas rescuing and placing boxers from Arkansas and surrounding states. We are completely "volunteer" and we have no paid employees. We board all of our dogs so we pay boarding fees, vet fees and of course, for food, heartworm preventive and Frontline/Advantage. We exist only through the good hearts of those who make donations and contribute to our fundraisers. We also charge an adoption fee, based on the age of the dog. We have many needs and would love to hear from those who are interested in helping rescue this wonderful breed of dogs. All donations, of course, are tax deductible.

A little history; the director began rescuing boxers in the mid 90's but she soon was swarmed. We banded together (5 volunteers) in 2000, but we didn't get our 501c3 status until 2003. We started out rescuing a few and at this time, we have 30 boxers in our possession. It seems that as our name is spread, so is the need for the rescue of boxers. We rescue shelter dogs, strays and owner surrenders. We are limited by our lack of personal kennel space and therefore, we have had to turn away a few, which does hurt. Our thanks go out to any and all who are willing to lend us a hand, a dime or a prayer.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption process begins with filling out and submitting an applicationi which can be found on our website. From there, we do a phone interview, we check vet and personal references and we do home visits. We do not place dogs on a "first come, first serve basis". We carefully consider the dog and the family situation so that we can make a placement that will provide happiness for both the adopter and the boxer for years to come.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
