Pets at Our Rescue Group:
Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:
We serve Wisconsin. However, we are a small group and do not drive over 100 miles from Madison, WI due to our physical and financial capabilities. Adopters must be willing to drive to our foster homes in southern Wisconsin to pick up their dogs. Long-distance adoptions, in the Midwest, will have home visits done by a local rescue group to their area.
Wisconsin Chihuahua Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit group serving Wisconsin. We accept shelter Chihuahuas and mixes and provide all veterinary care for them. Our dogs are neutered/spayed, vaccinated and heartworm tested prior to adoption. We perform home visits, provide adoption applications and personality profiles to potential adopters. Our donation fees are used solely to continue to provide care for our dogs.
Come Meet our Pets:
Our rescue team is composed of volunteers and our dogs are fostered in-home. We do not operate at a single location and keep our residential addresses confidential for security purposes. Adopters are requested to phone or e-mail us and may drive to visit the dog prior to adoption if they wish but after submitting and having their application form approved. We realize some people don't understand why we don't have them meet the dogs first but since we do this out of our homes it makes more sense to see if a potential adopter is right for a dog before allowing the physical visit.
Our Adoption Process:
We require an application, home visit and donation fee prior to adoption. The donation fee is tax-deductible. Our group provides you with medical records and a personality profile. The dogs in our care come from various backgrounds and we try to cover as much about the dog with you as we possibly can. Our members are based in Southern Wisconsin and potential adopters need to be able to drive to our location to pick up their dogs. Our DATCP number is 266750.
