About Our Rescue Group

Animal Resource Foundation, Inc. (ARF) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. We are a rescue group dedicated to saving and improving the lives of animals.

Most of our animals come from shelters. The animals we usually choose to come into our organization are the ones that are on the list to be euthanized due to space, medical attention, minor behavior problems, shyness, etc. These animals are then placed in a foster home to be rehabilitated. Once we feel they are ready to go to a new home we place them up for adoption.

The staff and volunteers of ARF, have one thing in common....Our love for animals!

Come Meet our Pets
ARF's Adoption Center is located in Chester, Maryland in the Kent Narrow Center (formerly Kent Narrows Outlets).

Our Adoption Center provides prospective adopters the opportunity to interact with our animals in a home-like atmosphere. This facility will provide education, socialization and basic obedience training. This new program will help homeless animals find the loving homes they deserve and reduce the overpopulation of unwanted animals.

We are open 5 days a week with evening hours. Monday and Tuesday - closed Wednesday - Friday 12 - 7, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 11-5

Our Adoption Process

Before ARF adopts to anyone, we require an adoption application to be filled out. Once that is approved we arrange to bring the animal to your home for a home visit. This visit is to be sure our animals are going to an environment suited for them as well as to be sure s/he gets along with all other members of the family including other pets that may live there.

Our dog adoption fee is $150.00. This includes, physical examination, spay/neuter, up-to-date on shots, Heartworm Check /Preventative, age appropriate - 1 year rabies vaccination, bordetella and one year membership to ARF.

Our cat adoption fee is $100.00. This includes: physical examination, spay/neuter, up-to-date on shots, age appropriate - 1 year rabies vaccination, FELV/FIV test and one year membership to ARF.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
