About Our
Rescue
Group:
Journey's End No-Kill Animal Society is a 501(c)(3) Charitible Organization which was started by a tiny group of voluteers with a big dream - that the time will come when there are NO MORE homeless, abandoned and abused pets in our society. Journey's End has a mission to provide sanctuary for homeless animals through foster homes, to place adoptaable animals in loving permanent homes and to reduce animal over-population through spay-neuter and education programs. No animal in our care will be euthanized except in cases of terminal illness, suffering, serious injury, or dangerous behavioral problems. Right now, we are a network of foster homes caring for approximately 175 animals. Many of these are available for adoption, but some will remain with Journey's End for the rest of their lives due to serious illnesses or advanced age. At this time, due to limited foster homes, we are unable to take in animals from the public. Unlike area kill shelters, we receive no funds from city, county, or other community programs.
Come Meet our Pets:
Call our contact number to set up an appointment to meet the pet of your choice. Since they are housed in foster homes, scheduling must be done with the foster "parents". No events are scheduled at this time due to weather; however we will be having them in the Spring.
Our Adoption Process:
We have an adoption application contract which is required prior to adopting. We require Vet reference, inside only and no declawing for cats, home visits, follow-up contacts, and insist on animals being returned to us if at any time in is necessary to give up that animal. Adoption fees usually run $75 for male(neutered) and $75 for female (spayed) cats. Dogs are $85. These fees include spay/neuter, shots, worming, micro-chipping, feline leukemia testing, and flea-treatment. Sometimes there are specials on fees (multiple animal adoptions, other circumstances), sometimes at the discretion of the fostering "parent".
