Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are located in North Royalton, Ohio, but welcome people from all over to visit and adopt from our shelter.

About Our Shelter:

Stay-A-While Cat Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to sheltering, caring for and placing cats into loving, responsible homes of their own. Other than a few cages for new and sick cats, we are a cage free facility. The cats enjoy roaming free in large rooms. We are a no-kill shelter in that we do not put cats to sleep other than for health reasons. Stay-A-While is a wonderful facility that you will not regret visiting!

Come Meet our Pets:

You can come to the shelter to meet our kitties during our business hours which are Saturdays from 12-5 and Sundays from 12-4.

Our Adoption Process:

When you come into the shelter to look for a kitty to adopt, you will be asked to fill out a questionaire so we can show you the cats that best fit what you are looking for. Once you have chosen a kitty, or they have chosen YOU, then there is another brief questionaire that an Adoption Counselor will go over with you. Our adoption fees are $85 for kittens (which includes a free spay/neuter certificate), $75 for adults, $85 for declawed cats and $50 for senior cats (7 years and older). It is required that all cats/kittens leave the shelter in a covered carrier. If you do not have one, we have some for sale at the shelter.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
