The Little Cats' Rescue, Inc.
About Our Shelter
The Little Cats' Rescue (TLC-Rescue) was founded in 2003. We are an all volunteer staff with foster homes and "the sanctuary," where the "lifers" and those awaiting Petsmart space or to be adopted from here, live happily and freely together, uncaged. We are a member of No More Homeless Pets and The Animal Coalition of Tampa. TLC-Rescue is a "Petsmart Partner," with use of the adoption center in the New Port Richey (Trinity)location. We participate in an aggressive spay/neuter program and seek to educate, not just adopt! The Little Cats' Rescue is in need of volunteers in many areas: socialization, transportation, webmaster, clerical, fundraising, adoption center attendants, handy-person, kenneling, etc. TLC is a Florida 501(C)3 non-profit corporation, and all donations are tax deductible. Please email if you are able to help in any way - time, money, supplies, or all of the above.
Come Meet our Pets
Trinity, Florida Petsmart is temporary home to some of our rescues. We never seem to have the time to get everyone on the website! (hint hint for volunteers!) Visits to "the sanctuary" are by appointment only. An adoption application must be approved prior to the visit.
Our Adoption Process
Please email for an application to littlecatsrescue@aol.com. We do check references, including your veterinarian. Pre and/or post adoption home visits may be conducted. Prior to adoption, all TLC cats are tested for FIV/FeLV, spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and healthy in every way! We diligently seek to match the needs and purrsonality of the individual cat with the adoptive family. We believe that the adoption is a life-time commitment and should not be entered into lightly.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and
you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat
or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes.
Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they
think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from
a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage
people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA,
humane society or pet rescue group.
