About Our Rescue Group:

The purpose of Rainbow Rescues is to find permanent homes for dogs in kill shelters that are about to be euthanized. Long-term welfare of the dog is the ultimate goal. Volunteers visit kill shelters, evaluate the disposition, health, and socialization of the dog. The rescue has the dogs altered, vaccinated, chipped, heart worm tested and groomed. Often medical needs are cared for: broken legs, infected teeth or ears, heart worm, diabetes. The dogs are fostered or boarded until permanent homes can be found. Transportation is available.
The majority of these lovely dogs are mixed breeds, the best of all possible worlds. Rainbow Rescues, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foundation operating solely on donations.

Come Meet our Pets:

Volunteers work from their homes. We have no kennels, per se. The dogs are fostered or boarded until homes are located for them.

Our Adoption Process:

Rainbow Rescues, Inc. has an adoption application that can be accessed online.
Matching a dog and family for a lifetime committment involves consideration of activity level, space available, companionship time, personality and disposition, and the care required of a particular dog. The guardianship contract requests $150.00 rescue donation. Believing that obedience training is a valuable bonding tool, Rainbow Rescues will reimburse the cost of an obedience course for new adoptions.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
