We are located in Hillsville, VA and serve Carroll County, Grayson County and the City of Galax. Also any surrounding areas. We do accept out-of-state applications but require approved applicants to come to our area with any current dogs to meet the potential new family member. We do not ship animals.

All dogs and cats are up-to-date on shots and are spayed or neutered before adoption. An adoption application and fee is required. The entire application must be completed in order to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered. It is essential that we have a name and phone number of your veterinarian that can verify that your current and/or past pets meet our policy requirements. It is the policy of Twin Co. Humane Society that your pets are spayed or neutered and current on all vaccines and are on heartworm preventative. A volunteer will contact you after reviewing your application

We have no facilities of our own, but do foster as many animals as possible, which we pull from the local shelter or those rescued by an individual. Our main focus is on spay/neuter of companion animals. Funding is mainly through grants, yard sales, dog walks, Food Lion "Shop & Share", donations, and membership dues. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
