Dog adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog and you'll have a friend for life! Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA.
We are an all-breed / mixed-breed rescue. All of our dogs receive age-appropriate vaccinations, and those six months or older are spayed / neutered and tested for heartworms before adoption.
Many of the dogs we rescue are older and / or have serious injuries or medical conditions. We provide whatever veterinary care they need to return them to adoptable condition and / or give them the best possible quality of life. We have rescued and placed blind dogs, dogs with physical disabilities (amputations, congenital deformities, etc.) and dogs with chronic medical conditions that require ongoing medication (heart conditions, diabetes, lupus, Cushings syndrome, etc.). Because we do not euthanize rescued dogs to make room for others, some of these dogs may be with us for a number of years or even for life.
Our adoption fees usually range from $60 to $150, depending on the age, breed and condition of the dog. We sometimes reduce or waive fees for special needs and older dogs, as well as those who have been in rescue for a long time. Adoption fees are fully refundable for 30 days after adoption (minus any costs we must pay for return transport, if applicable.)
Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
