Lucky Dog Rescue
About Our Rescue Group
We are a small, non profit group of volunteers dedicated to saving the lives of countless unwanted dogs and cats. Our group consists of less than 20 volunteers who work countless hours in an effort to find the best possible new homes for deserving animals who would otherwise, not have a chance. Any animal that comes into our rescue group is examined by our vet, updated on all vac's, tested for heartworm and spayed or neutered. If any animal needs medical treatment for a health ailment, we do not place them on our list of available animals until they are 100% healthy!! They are then cared for in a foster home, when available, until they await a permanent adoption. Often times, we fall short on available foster homes and must pay to board the rescued animals at our vet clinic until we can locate a new foster home.
Come Meet our Pets
We rarely participate in adoption events. It's our belief that this is not in the best interest of the animals we're trying to help. We've discovered that it's very stressful on them to be "on display" and we feel that the transport to and from such events is disruptive to them, as well. We show all of our dogs, in their foster homes by appointment only, once an initial phone interview has been conducted.
Our Adoption Process
Lucky Dog Rescue will not adopt any of our animals outside of the Metro area. We are committed to checking in on the progress of the animal for the rest of it's life and as a result, can only adopt to local residents. We do have a leagal and binding adoption contract that must be signed as well as an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, depending on the animal. All animals we place are meant to be indoor companion pets. We conduct a home visit prior to completing the adoption process.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
