Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio
About Our Rescue Group
Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small(but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies but on occasion, we are have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie or a particular breed we'd like to help unite you find a wonderful companion that fits your families lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.
Come Meet our Pets
Come visit some of our wonderful collies at the Petco on Sawmill Rd., Dublin, OH the third Sunday of each month from 12:00-2:00.
Our Adoption Process
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please contact Daryl at halvacs@aol.com. She will send you an adoption application to complete. Once the application is returned, Daryl can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if you are a good candidate for one of our dogs. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and
you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog
or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes.
Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they
think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from
a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage
people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA,
humane society or pet rescue group.
