About Our Rescue Group:

"MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE". ARF is a small, but very active group of volunteers in south Louisiana who are saving, vetting and caring for dogs rescued from the streets, the pounds, the hurricanes and from owner surrenders. We screen applicants and do home visits to be sure we are matching our pets with the right people!

Petco South - 609 Settlers Trace Boulevard, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70508 every Saturday 11am - 2pm.
PetSmart - 5700 Johnston St, Lafayette, LA, every Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.

If there is a particular dog you would like to see, please contact the contact person for that dog and make arrangements for the dog/dogs to be present at the adoption event.

Our Adoption Process:

Adoption Fees are $150 per pet, which pays for up-to-date vaccinations, spay/neuter, deworming and heart worm prevention and microchip.
Applicants are required to sign a contract.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
