Arizona Maine Coon Cat Rescue
About Our Rescue Group
AZ-MCCR/SAFE is a well-organized, breed-specific cat rescue group, offering years of experience with Maine Coon and Maine Coon Mix cats.

As an arm of SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia), we are dedicated to the elimination of this horrific practice. We focus on rescuing and saving these most precious of felines and placing them in loving homes.

Come Meet our Pets
Some of our available cats are at Petsmart at Power Road and McKellips in Mesa. Volunteers are onsite every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 - 2:00 and by appointment.

AZ-MCCR also participated in many local adoption events.

Our Adoption Process
When an adopter finds a kitty that they want to adopt, they complete our adoption application either online or hard copy. The adoption is reviewed and references checked. Once the application is approved, the adopter then signs an adoption agreement and submits the adoption fee to AZ-MCCR. The adoption agreement states that the adopter will not declaw, will keep the kitty indoors unless on a leash or under supervision, and will return the cat if they cannot keep it. The adoption fee ranges between $100 - $150 depending on the age of the cat. Following the adoption, the adopter is given all vet records pertaining to their new kitty.

Adoptions are done onsite at the Petsmart adoption center as well as facilitated on an individual basis. For more information, please visit our website at www.azmccr.org

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
