Pets at Our Rescue Group:

About Our Rescue Group:

Shelter Animal Resource Alliance (S.A.R.A.) is a non-profit organization that rescues, assists and advocates for shelter animals, particularly animals at animal control shelters who would otherwise be euthanized. We also work to support community low-cost spay/neuter programs. We operate S.A.R.A.'s Treasures Gift & Thrift Shop at 871 River Road in Eugene to raise funds for our life-saving programs.

Come Meet our Pets:

You can meet our adoptable rescued cats at S.A.R.A.'s Treasures, 871 River Road in Eugene, Oregon. We are open 7 days a week from 10 a.m to 6 p.m.

Most of our rescued dogs are transferred to approved adoption programs at humane societies. Some dogs have special needs or are too frightened to do well in a shelter environment - these dogs we keep in foster homes and find loving homes for them ourselves. Photos, descriptions and contact information for these dogs are posted at S.A.R.A.'s Treasures.

Our Adoption Process:

Adoption fees vary per cat or dog, and include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip and much more!

Adopters must come in person to meet the dog or cat, complete a fairly extensive application, and be interviewed, before an adoption can occur. Our rescued cats and dogs are carefully matched to the adopters and their home environment. The well-being of the rescued animal is our top priority.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
