About Our Rescue Group:
MinPinHaven fosters miniature pinschers and other smaller dogs who have the misfortune to find themselves given up by the humans in their lives or who chase something interesting and lose their homes. We also rehabilitate bad attitudes and find appropriate homes for the fur babies. Jessie, Joey and Ricky rescued me and told me I had to help others find a loving human of their own.Come Meet our Pets:
We do not have a shelter as yet so our dogs are fostered in homes of our volunteers. We will list events we will be participating in on our website as well as send emails to our applicants and our approved and waiting homes inviting them to these events and advising them of the dogs that will be attending. Please email us with questions.
Our Adoption Process:
Please visit our website - www.minpinhaven.com, fill out and submit an adoption application and we will contact you to set up a time to meet the dog(s) you are interested in adopting. We will check your vet and personal references and then schedule a home visit. Incomplete applications, lack of home visits or not meeting all the people who will live in the house with the potential new dog are all non-negotiable components of our adoption process. Our adoption contract is listed on our website (www.minpinhaven.com). Please review it carefully and ask questions.
Since MinPins are a hunting breed and are small, homes with young children are most likely not a good option for this breed, but of course, it depends on the family.
We have a sliding scale (based on age of the dog) adoption fee. In addition to this adoption fee, we ask for reimbursement of veterinary care which covers among other services, the micro-chip, current on all shots, heartworm tested (and negative) and on Heartgard and of course, spayed or neutered.
We require that all dogs or cats in the home be indoor residents and be spayed or neutered.
