Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: East Ridge, Tennessee
Our goal is to keep our shelters euthanasia rate extremely low, we have been able to accomplish this so far. In 2007 "NO" adoptable animals have been euthanized for space! And our year to date percentage for adoptable animals is 0%. This is because of our high adoption rate and owner reclaimed aninals. We have an extensive rescue network that has helped in saving several animals lives. We are having a high rate of owner surrenders at the shelter; many are from the City limits of Chattanooga and from Hamilton County and Georgia. The owners don't want to surrender their animals to a high kill shelter and think we can take their animals; we are a very small shelter with limited space. We are unable to accept animals from other areas; proof of residence will have to be given when surrendering any animal. We are getting a good reputation about finding our animals homes or getting them into rescue, but it's not our responsibilty to find "YOUR" animal a new home, we are the last RESORT. If you live outside of East Ridge and need to surrender an animal we can provide rescue contacts but we can not take your animal.

Adoption prices are $85.00 which includes a vet check (all other services, shots, tests are not included and will not be covered under the adoption contract) a rabies voucher and low cost spay/neuter. All altered animals are $40.00 which includes the vet check and rabies voucher. After your adoption we will make your new pets appointment with the vet of your choice, also you won't have to spend all that time filling out the vets new client paperwork the day of your appointment because we have all that paperwork at the shelter.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
