About Our Rescue Group:

We are a small grassroots, nonprofit group of dedicated volunteers who have banded together to save the lives of dogs from abandonment and abuse. We do what we do for the love of these beautiful dogs.

We specialize in non-shedding dogs, Bichon Frise, Poodles, Maltese, and their "friends"

All of our dogs live in a foster home for a minimum of 3 weeks - so that we can get to know the "real" dog. This helps us to match up the right dog with the apropriate family - making for one of the most successful adoption rates in the system. In the last 4 years, we have only had 1 dog returned to us!

Many of our rescues come to us in a "ragged" condition - hence the name - Rags to Riches!

If you would like to make a donation, we would be extremely grateful - and donations can be made through our Paypal account under the name of -

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
