4 Paws Rescue
About Our Rescue Group
I am an individual, one person rescue, and keep most of my rescue animals at my home. I started the rescue service when I started getting too many personal pets to keep. I post the animals I have at my home, and post for our local City Animal Shelter, and for individuals needing to place unwanted pets. I put a weekly notice with photos in our local paper, a post flyers at the drive through bank. I work on donations, and what I get from a minimal adoption fee. Since I work full time, this is a part time effort to help the animals. I have grown up and been around animals all my life, and hate to see one destroyed just because it does not have a home. The City and most individual families do not have a way to get the news out about available pets. The shelter that I provide this service to is not a “no kill” facility. Without my service, people have no idea what pets are available for adoption. When posting for the shelter or an individual person, I list their contact information with the pet listing.
Come Meet our Pets
Because I work full time, and the rescue is at my home, I do not list my home address. When someone is interested in seeing or adopting a pet, I give them driving instructions at that time. My phone is 580-628-2308. Please call after 4:30 PM or leave a message on the machine. For the Tonkawa Animal Shelter listings, you can contact our ACO, Amanda, through the Police Dept. 580-628-2516 Other individuals will have their phone numbers listed with their pet.
Our Adoption Process
We have an adoption contract to sign, and a State required spay/neuter contract if animal is not altered. This State refundable deposit is $10. Our fees are posted with each animal, and vary depending on what expenses we have in the animal.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
