We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: Hopkinsville, Cadiz, Princeton, Oak Grove. We serve a 4 county area.
We are always at capacity and need donations of cat and dog food, litter, blankets, sheets, cloth table cloths & cloth placemats(for the cats), toys and treats for the dogs and cats, and money donations to help in transporting animals to rescues. It is also possible to prepay adoptions for animals to help them find good homes.
We get a lot of animals from Fort Campbell when the soldiers ship out and we really need help rehoming these pets.
Volunteers are greatfully welcomed whether in the shelter helping with basic care or excercising and playing with the animals, or help with listing the animals avail. on web sites and also we are always looking for foster homes.

Christian County Animal Shelter
About Our Shelter
Our staff loves animals and we are dedicated to getting as many animals adopted as possible. We are usually able to tell you the disposition and sometimes quirks of our animals. You can come in and choose an animal and spend a little quiet time with them to get to know them before adopting. Wyndi can tell you who is a family dog and who might be geared more towards protection. Courtney spends a lot of time with the puppies as well as the cats. Irene oversees it all and has excellent advice about the care and attention needed for the animals.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
