About Our Shelter:

St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center is a full service animal shelter. Our Animal Control Officers work throughout St. Charles County to protect animals and people and educate animal owners about responsible pet ownership. At our Pet Adoption Center, we take in strays for safe keeping until their owners come to claim them. We offer microchipping services to the public during our regular business hours. The Pet Adoption Center always has a large variety of dogs and cats available for adoption.

We are located across from the St. Charles Community College, approximately 3 miles south of I70 and 1 mile north of Hwy 94 on Mid Rivers Mall Drive. We also do outside adoption events at different locations.

Saturday Oct 14th - Pet adoption 10 - 3. Westinn Kennels. St Charles County will also be microchipping for a nominal fee. All Paws Rescue will also be there with animals for adoption.

Sun Nov 5th - PAWSTA FOR PETS spaghetti dinner fund raiser at the Ofallon Elks Lodge to benefit All Paws Rescue and SNUGGLE. 4-8pm. Dinner, Silent auction, DJ, and door prizes. Please call 636-288-2999 for more information or e-mail weezmags@charter.net.

Our Adoption Process:

To adopt a pet, we encourage you to visit the Pet Adoption Center as often as you like. You will be asked to fill out an adopton application and speak to a staff member who will help you make your selection. We are happy to keep your information on file and work with you to the best of our ability to help you find the perfect pet. Adoption fees are $60.00 for puppies 4 months and younger and dogs 5 months and older are $50.00. Cats 5 months and older are $30.00 and kittens 4 months and younger are $40.00 this includes, spay or neuter, microchip, worming, some vaccinations, and either a feline leukemia test or heartworm test.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
