Pets at Our Shelter:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We accept animals from within our county and do our best to find them all loving new forever homes. However, due to the large amount of animals we take in daily, we do have to euthanize.

We are happy to adopt nationwide but we do not ship our pets. They must be picked up at the Vet clinic by the adopter or a transport unit arranged by the new adopter.

For the most current listing of our animals please see

About Our Shelter:

We are a public shelter ran by the Cullman County Government. We are here to provide a service to the county while also trying to find good homes to as many animals as possible. We are also Animal Control for Cullman County so we enforce state and local animal law as well. We strive hard to educate the public about animals as much as possible.

Come Meet our Pets:

You may see our pets online, in our shelter and also we have pets for adoption at Pet Depot.

Our Adoption Process:

The fee for a dog or puppy is $90 and the fee on a cat or kitten is $65. This fee includes the rabies vaccine and the spay/neuter of your new pet. Also through generous donations we are able to vaccinate all our animals with their age appropriate vaccines including bordetella for the dogs.

Adoption on all other animals is determined on a per animal basis

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
