We are a small no kill rescue based out of East Rockaway NY with foster homes throughout the tri state area. We will do out of state adoptions but a home visit must first be done by a local rescue and the family must be willing to travel to NY to adopt.

About Our Rescue Group:

Fur Babies is a smal no kill rescue which helps provide a safe environment for needy dogs and cats. most of our rescues are either strays or pulled from high kill shelters in the tri state area. All rescues are fully vetted (altered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped heartworm tested and on prevention) before adoption. Most are in loving foster homes until a forever home can be found, that way we can tell you everything about that particular animals personality(O:

Come Meet our Pets:

Since we do not have a shelter of our own you must first fill out an adoption application and then the foster family will contact you to set up a day to meet. We can set up a meeting day with several of our rescues if needed(O:

Our Adoption Process:

We require an adoption application to be filled out prior to meeting our rescues, if you are approved we will then set up a meeting (if you live close we will most likely bring the animal to your home-if far a home visit is scheduled). If you decide to adopt the pet an adoption contract is signed. Vet and personal references are checked and the adoption donations vary with what each individual animal needs when they come into our care. The range is from $75-$300

Why should you adopt?

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
