We serve all of Saratoga County, we take all the animals from Saratoga County Residents only. Proof of residency and an appointment are needed.

About Our Shelter:

We are an organization run by the county. We work with several rescue groups that take some of our animals. On our web site you can see the animals that they have also. Our mission is To protect and promote public safety and animal care through sheltering, pet adoption, education and supporting law enforcement
creating a more desirable community for the citizens and animals of Saratoga County.

The Saratoga County Animal Shelter has started a volunteer program. We are at this time looking for people to volunteer to walk dogs or help with cats.. You must be at least 18 years of age, if under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult. We are looking for at least two hours of your time a week. If you are interested please feel free to fill out the application and submit it to us. We will then contact you about the class that is needed before you start volunteering. If you have any questions about the position or the application please feel free to contact the Volunteer Coordinators

Come Meet our Pets:

We are located at 6010 County Farm Rd in Ballston Spa New York. We are open to the public from 10am to 4pm Monday thru Saturday. We accept animals between the hours of 10am and noon by appointment only. We are closed on all major holidays.

Our Adoption Process:

You must be 18 years of age to adopt from here. We have a contract that you must sign and follow the guidelines to adopt an animal from here. In certain situations landlord contact information will be required.

Our Fees are as follows

Dog Fees
$78.00
Includes spay/neuter, rabies shot, vaccines,and heartworm/ lyme testing.

Cat and Kittens Fees
$25.00
Includes spay/neuter, rabies shot, vaccines and FIV/FELV testing

Rabbits, birds, guinea pigs ect.
$5 adoption fee
Ferrets
$5 adoption fee
$8 rabies shot
