Thank you so much for your support. The animals appreciate it very much!

About Our Shelter:

The New Nodaway Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Organization. Our mission is to give shelter and care to lost, abused, or unwanted dogs and cats, to advocate the humane treatment of all animals, and to reduce overpopulation through a successful spaying and neutering program.

If you cannot adopt a pet, please consider becoming a "SHELTER BUDDY" to one of our many homeless animals. For $10/month, you can help with the care of one of our precious "babies". If that animal is lucky enough to find it's "forever home", we will contact you & you can pick another to bring your special good luck to, if you chose.

There is also the option of SPONSORSHIP. You might chose to pay a certain amount of money towards the adoption fee of a specific animal or towards the spay/neuter of that critter.

They would all appreciate your help, very much! Thank you for considering being a Special Shelter Buddy &/or a Special Sponsor to our of our animals! Contact the email address below for more information or to become a special friend in any way!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
