About Our Shelter

Lebanon Humane Society is dedicated to finding permanent loving homes for homeless pets.We are a independent, not- for -profit organization that is neither funded by the goverment,nor receive funding from any other humane organization

The Lebanon Humane Society was organized in 1983 and in 1984 was chartered by the IRS as a 501Â© 3 Not-for-Profit Corporation in the State of Missouri. We have operated continuously in Lebanon since 1984.

Monday- Saturday 12:00-4:00pm • Closed Sunday
(We are willing to come out after hours by appointment.)

We are located in Lebanon. I-44 Exit 129. If you are eastbound you will make a left, westbound make a right and go approx 2.7 miles to Rolling Hills Rd and go right, then make an immediate left onto Gateway Rd. We are 1/4 mile on the right!!

Our Adoption Process

Adopting a Friend

Adoptions are done at the facility, after the required forms are filled out.

Any animal over 6 months will be altered before leaving the shelter.

Adoption Donation Fee:
$43.00 for Cats
$53.00 for Dogs
(If Rabies or Bordetella vaccination are given there will be a additional fee of $10.00 per vaccination)

We are offering gift certificates. You can purchase them at the Lebanon Humane Society.

Of course any and all donations are really appreciated.

We Thank You For Any Help

We Can Always use Volunteers so if you have some time on your hands and you love to work with pets. Please come out and help us with the following things.

* Shelter work washing dishes, doing laundry, brush, bathe, feed, and water pets
* Visit the animals for socialization, grooming, etc
* Volunteer for mobile adoptions, garage sales, other fund raising events.
* Run errands such as take animals to vet for spay/neuter, etc..
* Help with transfer of animals to rescue groups.
* Pick Up Aluminum cans
* Cut grass in summer

Or just come out and spend some one on one time with the animals this just makes them better pets and they love it.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
