Pets at Our Rescue Group:
Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:We serve Illinois and the surrounding states.
About Our Rescue Group:Illinois Cocker Rescue (ICR), created to rescue abandoned and stray Cocker Spaniels, was incorporated as an Illinois Not-for-Profit corporation in 2000 and is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
From our inception until 2011, ICR primarily rescued Cocker Spaniels. Initially these dogs were rescued from shelters, animal control facilities, and from owners who could no longer care for them. In 2003, we began rescuing Cockers from puppy mills.
In 2006, we began to rescue Poodles, a breed that is coming out of the puppy mills in record numbers due to the breeding of "designer dogs." We codified our Poodle rescue in 2011 when we created Poodles N Friends, a subsidiary which focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Toy and Miniature Poodles.
We are holistic in nature and provide a foster home where these rescues are restored to optimum health prior to adopting them out to loving, forever homes.
Come Meet our Pets:We will be profiling many of our adoptable dogs at the Lake Geneva PETCO on Saturdays from 12:00 to 3:00 PM beginning April 27, 2013.

If you are interested in adopting a specific dog, please fill out and submit an Adoption Application from our website at least 2 days prior to the rescue event. That will ensure that there is adequate time to process the application, interview the applicant, and prepare the paperwork & dog to bring to the event.
If your schedule does not permit you to visit our adoption events on Saturdays, we schedule adoption appointments for approved applicants at our rescue center in Harvard, IL every day (except Saturday) between the hours of 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Please contact us via email to schedule a visit.
To ensure there is mutual chemistry between the adoptive family and the dog, all resident family members, including canines, must attend the adoption appointment. If there is chemistry, the dog can go home with its new family.
Our Adoption Process:If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please email us at ILCockerRescue@aol.com with any questions you may have, or visit our website at www.ILCockerRescue.org to fill out and submit an Adoption Application.
Upon receipt of your Adoption Application, we will contact you either by email or phone.
