Pets at Our Rescue Group:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are a local rescue organization that proudly serves all of Northern Jersey . We adopt our animals to good homes locally and across the country.

About Our Rescue Group:

FOWA has been in existence for 27 years serving all of Northern New Jersey. FOWA is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization highly respected in the community. We alter almost 100% of our animals and maintain a less than 1% euthanasia rate. When a family adopts from FOWA they know they are getting an animal that was loved and cared for well beyond even the best of shelters.

When you adopt a F.O.W.A. cat or dog be assured you have picked an animal that was carefully screened and trained before adoption as well as cared for above and beyond what you might expect at even the best of dog shelters. In short, these animals are loved and nurtured from the minute they enter our care until the moment the leave: guaranteed!

F.O.W.A was the rescue organization that ran the Wayne Animal Shelter for the past decade. Currently the organization operates outside of their houses. F.O.W.A. fosters outside of their homes and continues to fund raise just as aggressively for the medical care and expenses of the animals you see here and future ones they hope to rescue. Any additional money fund raised will be saved in the hopes that one day F.O.W.A. will be able to afford a place of its own.

Please contact us for more information on any of the animals listed. Or, if you are in the position to Foster, or Sponsor-a-Pet please reach us ASAP: fostering, and sponsoring parents Needed!

Volunteers and donations always welcomed!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
