About Our Rescue Group:

Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes as many Dalmatians from Florida shelters as possible that need our help. Our first and main priority is to take the Dalmatians who are facing euthanasia from high-kill shelters. Since our formal inception in 2003, Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay has placed over 400 dogs. Each potential home is thoroughly screened including a home check and vet check. Every Dal is neutered or spayed before placing. All Dals are kept in foster homes while healing and awaiting a forever home.

Come Meet our Pets:

We attend most major dog adoption events in the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater area. Call Sherry Massaro, Foster Coordinator at 727-787-1760 or email her at for a list of upcoming events.

Our Adoption Process:

Before any Dalmatian is placed, an Adoption Application must be filled out and approved. A copy is available on our website. Next a veterinarian check is done to make sure existing or past pets are well cared for. And finally, a home check is done to make sure the Dal is going to a safe and clean environment. Adoption fee is $225 for purebreds under 8 and $125 for Dal mixes and Dals over 8 years of age.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
