Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Life House has been in Mount Juliet now since June of 2005. We have done rescue in IN for 2 years, KY for 5 years, and Tn for almost 2. We are desperately seeking local foster homes. If you are interested in providing a temporary home for one of our rescued animals please please please let us know immediatly! The more foster homes we have the more animals we can save. We are excited to be able to assist you with any animal rescue needs you may have. Feel free to contact us. Please note....Our adoptions have gone down drastically. As long as adoption rates are down this much we will not be able to bring in anymore animals. Please, please, please consider adopting one of our great babies! You couldn't ask for a better dog than the ones we have listed. They have all passed extensive temperment testing and are exceptional. If you are just browsing our site, tell a friend, coworker, or family member about us. Adoption is really the better route.

We serve our local community as well as dogs and cats from all over the U.S.A.

About Our Rescue Group:

Life House is a small private organization that works very hard on rehoming abandoned, abused, neglected, injured, and stray animals. We focus mainly on dogs but will occasioanlly accept a cat or kitten if we have room. We will also accept small animals including ferrets, hamsters, turtles, birds, chinchillas, guinea pigs, and fish provided you supply the cage/tank. Occasionally we will acceptowner surrenders. If you are wanting to surrender your personal pet due to moving, divorce, etc we require a $100.00 surrender fee. This helps to offset the cost of your pets initial vet visit, spay/neuter, dog food, etc. It is a small price to pay to ensure your beloved best friend's safety. We are not a shelter with kennels, we rely soley on our foster home network to take in these animals until we find a suitable forever home. All of our animals are completely vetted prior to adoption. We have them spayed or neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, vaccinated, and groomed if need be. Once an animal is accepted into our organization, it will never have to worry again. We are strictly no kill unless an animal is beyond treatment, at that point we use humane euthanasia to end any suffering. We will not take in aggressive dogs no ifs, ands, or buts! We temperment test every animal before accepting it into our program. We will accept pitbulls on an individual basis provided they have no people or dog aggression issues. We have a huge soft spot for labs so if you no of one in dire need please contact us. The money used to care for all of our animals comes strictly out of our own pockets, so if you would like to donate old dog houses, blakets, towels, dog beds, toys, food, cat litter, or make a monetary donation to us or to our account at the Animal Care Center 615-754-7387 we would greatly appreciate it more than words can express. We are in the process of becoming a 501c3 non profit so once that is approved all donations will be tax deductible.

Our Adoption Process:

If you are interested in adopting one of our furbabies please e-mail us for an application. Our adoption fees range from $150.00-$250.00 depending on the individual animal. Typically it is $150.00 unless it has required extensive vet care and at that point we do increase it to $250.00 to help offset our vet bill. We require the animal to be completely vetted prior to adoption. We also insist on a home visit and do check personnal/vet references. If you liveout of state you must be willing to come and pick up the dog in person unless other arrangements can be made. We do not ship so please don't ask! We look foward to hearing from you and hope that we can introduce you to your new lifetime companion.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
