Louisiana state law requires all animals adopted from shelters be spayed/neutered to prevent the offspring from ending up in the shelters.
Fees vary with the animal -- depending on what we have had to do to be able to place the animal up for adoption.
All adopters must have a fenced area for any animal that will spend time outside. Cats must have a completely enclosed play area for being out - of - doors. Dogs must have a secure play area when out - of - doors. However, all of our animals have worked hard to learn to be house pets and most preferr living in the house with their family. NONE of our animals are to be left out - of - doors without a proper place complete with shelter (dog house, cat house, barn, etc) clean, fresh water daily, and food daily.
We know this sounds elementary, but considering what some of our animals have come through, we felt we must add this our section.

Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
