Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:
We adopt anywhere we can do a home visit.About Our Rescue Group:
Furever After Rescue Society is a non-profit organization, based in Calgary, AB , and Edmonton, AB (Canada) dedicated to the rescue of dogs from high kill shelters, disasters, neglect and other tragic situations from Canada and the United States. Once selected, all our animals for adoption receive a full health check, spay/neuter and are then placed in a caring foster home where they are socialized and trained until their perfect home becomes available. Our group often focuses on southern states, primarily Louisiana, where there is the greater need for rescue from euthanasia. Many of these abandoned dogs are recognized breeds that often surprise people they were abandoned.
After two years of operations, Furever has 100% success in placement of all our rescues. We are a NO KILL organization and believe any animals’ geographical situation should not impact its right to a humane existence. We oppose breed specific legislation and support the ethical treatment of animals.
We cannot adopt certain breeds to the Edmonton area because of BSL, be sure the dog you want to adopt is not affected.
Our Adoption Process:
Our adoption process includes an application, home visit and interview. If we receive multiple applications, our Aniomal Placement Team places dogs based on the best home for them. We do not have a facility but rely on foster homes, the more foster homes we have the more dogs we can save.Another option for adoption is our Purrfect Match service . It works like this: once you are pre-approved, our animal care specialists can save a dog from a high kill shelter with your family and situation in mind. There are hundreds of amazing dogs in shelters dying every day- help us save just one(or two!) more and place it in a loving, responsible home.
