Pets at Our Rescue Group:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Although based in the Ozarks, we have foster rescues in other areas. We also adopt out of state and make every effort to help arrange transportation.

About Our Rescue Group:

The main focus of rescue is livestock guardian breeds who are companions, NOT working dogs. We also rescue other large breeds on ocassion. All dogs are altered, have a complete blood panel, tested for heartworm, lyme and ehrliciosis, wormed, have immunizations, urinalsys and x-rays when indicated and are micro-chipped. All vet records are available to the approved adopters vet.

We evaluate and work on training and correcting any negative behaviors. Honesty is our policy.

Our dogs are in a number of foster homes. We limit our numbers in each home so each dog will understand what being part of a family is all about. Although sometimes kenneled, all dogs have their time inside daily, learning the doggie door, not to eat the furniture or 'mark' it and proper manners when someone comes to visit.

We rescue to save lives and place dogs in homes where they are considered part of the family.

Come Meet our Pets:

The majority of our dogs are in north central Arkansas but some are fostered in other states.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption application is required. It can be found at www.ozarkdogs.org/adopt.htm Upon receipt, you will be contacted by email and then after references are verified, you will receive a phone call. We try to do all this within 5 working days. If things look good and a 'match' is indicated we will then contact a rescue in your area to do a home visit for us. That takes about 2 weeks to arrange and complete. If approved, an adoption agreement will then be signed. It can be found at the same link.

Adoption fees vary but do not exceed $250. The fee does not including transportation.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
