About Our Rescue Group:

Austin Dog Alliance is an all volunteer, non-profit organization with a mission of Making Dogs A Part of Our Community. We have three program areas: pet therapy, educational programs for kids, and adoption.

Pet Therapy: We host information seminars every other month to teach teams how to become involved in pet therapy. Once a team passes the evaluation, we place them in nursing homes, schools and Dell Children's Hospital.

Educational Programs for Kids: We provide an after school enrichment program for dog loving 4th and 5th graders. We also provide free Dog Safety Seminars for area elementary schools.

Out Reach and Adoptions: We rescue and adopt out wonderful dogs. We also promote events which strengthen the bond between an owner and his dog.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption fee is $250 to cover the cost of a vet exam, HW Test, Fecal exam, DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies, spay or neuter, microchip insertion.

All dogs are kept in a foster home environment for at least a week. This helps us understand the dog's personality and requirements prior to matching with a family.

Adoption application required. Please see under the Outreach tab.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
