Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

This County shelter is located in Waynesville, Haywood County, NC. We are easily accessible from Atlanta, GA, Knoxville and Bristol, TN, Greenville/Spartanburg, SC, Asheville and Charlotte, NC.

About Our Shelter:

Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation (SARF) is a non-profit 501c3 whose volunteers work strictly with this shelter. We are presently working toward building an adoption facility where shelter animals can receive more time to be adopted. They presently have only several days after entering the shelter before those not adopted or rescued are euthenized for lack of space. Until that goal is realized, we operate as a "shelter without walls" and place as many as possible in our small network of foster homes, encourgage direct adoption by the public or transfer them to other rescue groups in the region who have available space or foster homes until they can be adopted.

Come Meet our Pets:

The shelter is open weekdays and Saturday from 9-1. We occasionally hold adoptions during community events throughout the year.

Our Adoption Process:

Adoption fees for shelter animals depend on weight and spay/neuter status. Unspayed females are $92.50 under 40 lbs. and $107.50 over. Unneutered males are $77.50 under 40 lbs. and $82.50 over. The adoption fee is turned over in its entirety to one of the local participating vets and the animals are altered and given current rabies vacc before the adopter takes possession, both included in that fee. If an animal is already altered, the adoption fee is $10 daily up to $40 to house the animal, plus $7.50 for a current rabies vacc if needed. No adoption applications or contracts are required.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box
