About Our Shelter:

We are a small shelter in Henderson, KY. We handle owner surrenders, cruelty and neglect investigations and strays. Everyone on staff has pets of their own and our goal is to find good homes for all of our furry friends. This small shelter handles nearly 3,000 animals per year. We occasionally have rabbits and guinea pigs available for adoption. We are currently looking for volunteers to help out in a number of areas. Petsmart in Evansville, IN every Saturday from 9:30 to ?. We are always in need of Volunteers at the shelter and on Saturday at Petsmart.

We are also very rescue friendly and can help with transport in most cases. Call or e-mail Diane for more information on transports and rescues.

Our Adoption Process:

Dogs 6 months and under are $100.00 Dogs over 6 months are $85.00. If you adopt a puppy from us we will issue you a voucher for $6.00 toward their Rabies shot when they are old enough. Cats and kittens are $45.00. If you adopt a kitten from us that is to young to be spayed or neutered we will issue you a voucher for $30.00 for spay/neuter and a $6.00 voucher for rabies.These fees includes spayed/neutered, up to date on shots for their age, dewormed, flea preventative, microchipping,heartworm testing, 1 month of Shelter Care Insurance and a bag of of Science Diet food.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
