Our Adoption Process:

Lollypop Farm strives to provide an adoption experience that considers important details for finding the right fit for each adopter, such as a person's home, interests, and lifestyle. We then match those with an animal's social, exercise, and training needs. Our Adoption Counselors work with prospective families to ensure happy, successful adoptions that last a lifetime.

Lollypop Farm has hundreds of adoptable animals available across four different adoption locations. While they are all listed here on the website, the best way to find a new furry companion is by visiting us in person — after all, you might be about to meet your new best friend!

Requirements for Adoption
Before falling in love with one of our animals, please make sure that you are:

- At least 21 years of age
- In possession of a valid photo ID
- Allowed to have a cat or dog where you live
- Able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide the training, medical treatment, and proper care for the animal over the course of it's entire lifetime.

We strongly recommend that the animals and people already residing in your home have an opportunity to be introduced to the animal that you are considering adopting.

Adoption Questionnaire
In order to provide the best service we can offer and match you efficiently with individual animals, we ask that you complete a short Adoption Questionniare when you are interested in meeting with any animals. You can complete this at the adoption location when you arrive.

A Little Time Makes All the Difference
Please plan on spending at least one hour for the adoption process — we’re confident that you’ll agree that this small investment of time will be well worth the countless hours of enjoyment that will result from finding “the perfect match.”

After Your Adoption
Lollypop Farm wants to ensure that your relationship with your new pet is positive and fulfilling, and so we continue our relationship with you even after your adoption is complete. Your Adoption Counselor will send you a postcard within a week of your adoption to provide you with contact information should you have any questions. Within a month after your adoption, you will receive an email containing a questionnaire about your experience with the adoption process and your new pet. This helps us improve our service and matching for future adopters. You will also be reminded of the many opportunities Lollypop Farm offers to address any issues you may be experiencing, such as the Pet Peeves FREE Behavior Help Line and online articles, and Dog Training Classes,

Lollypop Farm is eager to hear about how things are working out for your new pet, and we love to receive pictures—a month, a year, even ten years after adoption! Email pictures of your Lollypop Farm alumni and a short update to info@lollypop.org, and we'll post it on our Happy Tails Flickr Page.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
