Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:
We primarily serve northwest suburban Cook and DuPage Counties in northern Illinois.About Our Rescue Group:
People and Animals in Community Together Humane Society (PACT) is a no-kill, not-for-profit, and all volunteer animal shelter and educational organization. We were established in April of 2000 in Downers Grove, Illinois.PACT Humane Society is staffed by volunteers who serve in many different capacities including daily animal care providers (cleaning and socialization), adoption counselors, management team members, program coordinators, and advisers.
To date we have adopted out over 4,750 cats and dogs in our 12 year history.
We are no-kill, only euthanizing animals in advanced stages of cancer or liver disease, or an untreatable illness, where there is no quality of life or hope of recovery.
We have rescued thousands of animals from animal control facilities where they would have been euthanized within a matter of days.
We rescue older animals and "less-than-perfect" ones, such as dogs with heartworm, and cats with FIV or diabetes, cats missing tails, eyes or legs.
