Forever Home Canine Rescue is an all-volunteer, all-donation supported rescue for unwanted and homeless dogs. Small breed dogs are our specialty, but we do on occasion rescue larger dogs, and even cats. We do not have a shelter, and operate solely with a network of foster homes in North Carolina.

We are experienced rescuers with over 30 years experience. Helping you find the right pet to fit your family and your lifestyle is what we do best!

Our mission is to find loving "forever" homes for the deserving dogs in our care, and to provide education regarding responsible pet ownership.

Come Meet our Pets:

Please come to meet us and some of our adoptable pets on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at the PETCO store in Mooresville on Hwy 150 (River Highway), between 11 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Our Adoption Process:

If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, the first step is to complete and submit an application. Please e-mail us at foreverhomek0rescue@yahoo.com to request the application, which can be e-mailed back or faxed to us. A FHCR volunteer will contact you, and then arrangements can be made to meet the pet through the foster home.

FHCR offers a 3-week trial period to ensure that both the family and the pet are both happy with the results of the adoption. Within that time, we will refund the full adoption fee if the pet is returned. We want to be sure that our pets will have their perfect "forever" homes!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
