About Our Shelter:

The Friends of the Bowie Animal Shelter is a non-profit group that raises funds to raise awareness of our shelter and issues facing the animals in our community. We also raise money to take care of the day to day needs of the animals and any medical needs.

Come Meet our Pets:

Shelter is opened Monday -Friday by appointment with the animal control officer and the 1st and 2nd weekend is kept open by shelter volunteers from 9-3 sometimes earlier or later.

Our Adoption Process:

The adoption fee is $20 and then the adopter is responsible for the shots and spay/neuter of the pet.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
