Pets at Our Shelter:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Rescue Ranch is a small no kill shelter in Siskiyou County in northern Ca. We have adopted dogs to several states and Canada.

About Our Shelter:

Rescue Ranch is a small no kill shelter. We house between 10 and 15 dogs at all times that we get from the city and county shelters before they are euthanized. We started about 18 years ago with 40 acres and any where from 60 to 100 dogs. One of the founders passed away a few years ago and volunteers took over and finished the new facility in Aug of 09. We had over 80 adoptions in 2012 and hope to do better this year. We operate solely on the generous donations from the public and the volunteers. We have added boarding to our facility to help with our expenses so we can help more dogs find their forever homes.
We had 108 adoption in 2013 and we our adding 4 more rescue kennels

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
