Normal adoption fee is $125 which includes spay/neuter, DHLPP & rabies for adult dogs & at least one set of puppy shots- depending on age., microchipping and one month free insurance through Sheltercare.

About SCRAPS Shelter Canine Rescue and Placement Services
We are SCRAPS- Shelter Canine Rescue & Placement Services,the canine division of Animal Protection Coalition. We were designed to help fill the gap for adoptable animals that run out of time or just fail to be adopted at animal shelters throughout Indiana and Kentucky. We spay/ neuter each pet, provide needed vet services, microchip, and try to match each dog or puppy with the right individual or family. We always serve as a safety net for the dogs- willing to take back any dog at any time that is one of our rescue kids.
Most shelters work very hard to get their animals adopted. Serving as animal control facilities, they just get so many in- it's easy for dogs to get lost in a sea of furry faces to the public who goes in looking for a pet and some great dogs are overlooked. We step in and pull these dogs into our foster based rescue group and bring them to our home(s) where we can get to know a bit about their personality. We have a sense of what the dog is like and can concentrate more time on getting each dog into a caring home.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
