About Our Rescue Group:

The Lighthouse was established in 1997 to help homeless, abused, abandoned, and neglected animals. Our mission began with feral cats and has grown over the years to the rescue and rehoming of chickens, snakes, and many other animals in need of human kindness. We are a small group of animal lovers committed to helping animals in need. In the past 10 years, our members have placed more than 2,000 animals into loving homes and have helped to spay or neuter many thousands more. All animals are fostered in loving homes.

Come Meet our Pets:

Most adoptions and viewings are done in the homes of foster parents or adopting parents.

Our Adoption Process:

We have a pre-adoption interview process including a pre-approval form, we conduct a home visit, and have a written adoption agreement. We do charge a rehoming fee which includes vet care, spay/neuter, microchip, etc. All cats are indoors only, fixed, tested for FeLV/FIV, and microchipped.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
